Some hikes are peaceful rambles in the woods, and those are just fine for quiet contemplation. But the hikes that really open your eyes are the thrill rides, after a few miles of walking we came about this lake and found the most stunning shot of the day, guaranteed to up your heart rate.
It is too steep to put ice screws on lead, especially on hard, old glacial ice, so we ended up going up an alternate route. It took a long time before we finally got the dream shot, but it was totally worth it.
Taken observing the 4,000-meter peak before climbing. This photo was taken from Central Breithorn and features the amazing views that the European alps have to offer, it looks us much longer than anticipated to climb this beast.

Shaver Lake is a beautiful area for any outdoor enthusiast that would like to navigate their way off the beaten path and back again, we explored this very popular area of Sierra National Forest between Yosemite National Park and Sequoia National Forest where we got this shot.
